Tasting Note
Wine Advocate 92+, William Kelley, 15 December 2023
Based on the 2018 vintage, Egly's newly released NV Brut Grand Cru offers up inviting aromas of honeyed pear and white flowers mingled with hints of mint and praline. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and chiseled, it's an especially fine-boned, precise rendition of this immensely dependable cuvée, formerly known as the domaine's "Tradition" bottling.

Winery
In 1982, Francis Egly succeeded his father, swiftly transitioning to 100% estate bottling.
Their grand cru vineyards in Ambonnay, Verzenay, and Bouzy feature 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay vines averaging 50 years. Noteworthy is Ambonnay's Les Crayères, a legendary grand cru vineyard with 70-year-old Pinot Noir vines vinified separately since 1990. Premier cru vineyards in Vrigny spotlight Pinot Meunier, while old vines in Verzy (1902) and a sandy Trigny plot (near Merfy) enrich their range.
Egly-Ouriet crafts Champagnes of unmatched intensity, complexity, and precision. Their sought-after Coteaux Champenois Ambonnay Rouge, sourced from a vineyard beneath Les Crayères, showcases exceptional Pinot Noir craftsmanship in France.
