This is a 6.5-hectare estate, predominantly based in Pommard, with a few vines in Beaune, Meursault and Volnay. Joannès Faivre started the estate in parallel with his distilling activity in the end of the 19th century.

Joannes daughter Marie-Louise Faivre (1903-1987) married Louis VIOLOT and had 2 children. Louis passed away prematurely and Marie-Louise then married Jules GUILLEMARD, and developed the estate in Pommard. Eventually her sons Roger and Gilbert became winegrowers.

Thierry (son of Gilbert) joined the estate in 1978 and in 2007 bought back part of the vineyards from the other beneficiaries. (Brothers and cousins).

He remains the sole owner of the family estate in the appellations Pommard Epenots, Rugiens, Platière and Derrière Saint-Jean as well as in the Beaune Clos des Mouches.

Since 2019 the estate is run by Joannes (6th generation of the family), as his father Thierry retired. Joannes has established some changes in winemaking such as the use of whole cluster fermentation in some wines, and has radically change the wine packaging.

Wine Making

The vines are grown organically since 1999. The wines lean towards purity and freshness with lovely perfumes and without the Pommard rusticity.
The reds are mainly destemmed, with a few cuvees using varying amounts of whole cluster on the fermentation. Fermented with indigenous yeast, and aged in 50-100% new french oak.
The whites are whole cluster pressed and fermented with indigenous yeast, malolactic is completed 100%, and the wines are matured in oak barrels around 12 months.
