Tasting Note
Decanter 95, Tim Atkin MW, at 2018 En primeur tastings, Burgundy, 18 Oct 2019
Olivier Leflaive's winemaker Franck Grux understands the terroirs of Meursault as well as anyone. He's certainly made the most of this cool site in 2018, producing a village wine that's as good as many Premiers Crus. Intense, complex and refined, with a dusting of vanilla spice, stylish oak and racy, saline, mouthwatering acidity. Stunning stuff.

Winery
The Leflaive family have been Burgundy producers for many decades but, in 1984, Olivier Leflaive set up his merchant house producing wines under his own label from his own vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet. To establish his estate, he purchased 12 hectares of land in prestigious appellations including village Meursault to the Grands Crus of Montrachet and Criots-Batard-Montrachet.
Today, Olivier Leflaive controls all the winemaking and the ageing of the wines. Each vintage benefits from an individual approach and guarantees the authenticity of each appellation.
