Tasting Note
Burghound 89, Allen Meadows
This is aromatically similar to the straight 2020 Puligny villages with just a bit more floral influence and less oak influence. Here too there is very good punch and mid-palate density to the slightly bigger-bodied flavors that flash very fine length where the only nit is a subtle touch of warmth. This well-made effort should both age well over the mid-term yet be reasonably approachable young. 2027+
Inside Burgundy 93, Jasper Morris MW
Attractive lemon colour, a little more depth to the nose, some reduction, suggesting a flower or two as well. Very finely balanced, a little more flesh at the back. And then kicks on significantly. Excellent tension, a fine example.
Winemaking Winery
Winery
The Leflaive family have been Burgundy producers for many decades but, in 1984, Olivier Leflaive set up his merchant house producing wines under his own label from his own vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet. To establish his estate, he purchased 12 hectares of land in prestigious appellations including village Meursault to the Grands Crus of Montrachet and Criots-Batard-Montrachet. Today, Olivier Leflaive controls all the winemaking and the ageing of the wines. Each vintage benefits from an individual approach and guarantees the authenticity of each appellation.
