Tasting Note
This cuvee has an expressive nose, with scents of exotic fruits, citrus, and white flowers, as well as a great minerality. On the palate, "Blanc etc" shows aromas of ripe fruit and citrus fruits, as well as a delightful mineral tension with smokey nuances. Of high precision. The finish is gifted with a lovely persistence.
Winemaking
The white cuvee, formerly smoked white of Pouilly, is born following a 12-month maturing period in the barrel. It is made from a Sauvignon Blanc parcel selection grown on flinty clay and limestone marl soils.
Winery
Didier Dagueneau was the "wild man of Pouilly" before his untimely demise in 2008. He was on a quest to reestablish Pouilly-Fume's reputation for high-quality Sauvignon Blanc. His wines established a cult following, and now his son, Louis-Benjamin, is following in his footsteps and carrying on his legacy. In his hands, the wines remain very expressive but have gained a new level of precision.
