Tasting Note
Jasper Morris 93, December 2023
Pale lime and lemon. More electric on the nose with a slight citrus too. Clean white fruit at the front of the palate, more power behind, a good example but not quite the precision of the finest. The finish continues well and shows a riper countenance.

Domaine Paul Pernot, a prominent presence in Puligny-Montrachet alongside Domaine Leflaive, owns 22 hectares in Côte de Beaune, notably 14 in Puligny-Montrachet with prized plots like Bâtard-Montrachet and Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet. Established seven generations ago, Paul Pernot founded the domaine in the 1950s, steadily growing post-WWII.
The estate upholds a classic Puligny-Montrachet style despite selling 80% of their yield through a long-standing partnership with Joseph Drouhin.
Their vineyards host old vines from the '50s and '60s, focusing on grands crus and premiers crus with a nature-friendly approach. Their usage of oak is moderate, 10% - 15% for village level wines, 20% - 25% for premiers crus, and 30% - 40% for their grands crus. The resulting wines are renowned for their rounded texture, mineral finesse, and fruit concentration, promising excellent aging potential.
