Tasting Note

Pale yellow with vibrant greenish reflections. The bouquet is invigorating, showcasing a complex profile of ripe stone fruits intertwined with vibrant citrus notes. Hints of pineapple add a tropical flair, complemented by subtle roasted nuances that provide depth and intrigue.

On the palate, the wine is round and impeccably balanced, presenting a harmonious integration of the aromatic elements. The flavors echo the nose, offering a delightful interplay of fruit and oak.

The finish is elegantly nuanced with fine barrique characteristics, leaving a lingering impression that enhances the overall experience.

Winemaking Winery

  • Organic vine-growing.
  • Mechanical work of the soil.
  • The vines are trained in single guyot, keeping one long cane and one spur per vine, one budding every two eyes, in order to obtain well ventilated and beautiful grapes.
  • Grapes harvested by hand in crates, sorted on a sorting table if necessary and conveyed directly to the pneumatic press.
  • Pressing of whole grapes for two and a half hour. The juice from stainless steel vats settles at 12 degrees overnight. Then the must is directly transferred to barrels to achieve alcoholic fermentation (traditional Burgundy vinification).
  • 18 months ageing on lees: 30% aged for 12 months in Burgundy barrels + 6 months in stainless steel vats (two-wine barrels - Damy) and 70% of the cuvée aged only in stainless steel vats.

Winery

The origin of name "Au Pied du Mont Chauve" was born in the late 2000s when the Picard family owned vineyards in Chassagne-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, and Puligny-Montrachet.

The name was inspired by the hill of Montrachet, nicknamed "Mont Chauve." With a wealth of vineyards in these prestigious wine-growing areas, "Au Pied du Mont Chauve" boasts twenty renowned climates like Les Demoiselles and Les Caillerets.

Emphasizing synergy between terroir and wine, the vineyards have been biodynamically cultivated for years, with a focus on natural vinification. The wines from Au Pied du Mont Chauve are chiseled, delicate, and expressive, reflecting precision and elegance. Through meticulous aging, these wines offer a rare combination of density and freshness, unveiling a palate of exceptional finesse.
