Tasting Note
The Wine Advocate 91-93, William Kelley
The 2019 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches wafts from the glass with scents of orange rind, red berries, rose petals, sweet soil tones and preserved citrus peel. Medium to full-bodied and sumptuous but lively, it's bright and precise, with powdery tannins and a perfumed finish. This is very promising.
Burghound 89, Allen Meadows
There is slightly more layering to the apple and pear compote aromas that display citrus and floral top notes. Once again there is a succulent and seductive texture to the medium-bodied flavors that terminate in a clean, agreeably dry and more complex finale that is firm enough to allow for a few years of cellaring.
