Boroli, a traditional family from Piemonte that started in the 1990's the challenge to produce world class traditional Barolo using modern techniques.
Since 2015 the wines produced by Achille Boroli are tasted and tunedby Luca Gardini, the best Sommelier in the World in 2010.
Brunella is a Monopole from Boroli planted in the Comune di Castiglione Falletto. The vineyard covers 2.77hectares with vines of 40 years old in average. Exposed to South and South West on clay and limestone soil.
100% Nebbiolo fully destemmed, macerated for 20-25 days, fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks, and aged in large oak vats (1000-1500L), for 18 months and another 1 years in bottle before release.
Tasting Note
Wine Advocate 91, Monica Larner
This is the first vintage of this new wine from Boroli. The 2013 Barolo Brunella is an austere and dry expression of Nebbiolo. Dried fruit, spice and licorice emerge from the bouquet. In the mouth, the wine is balanced, fresh and elegant. This is a very pretty cru expression with a long and clean finish. Drink Date: 2018 - 2028
