Today, the legacy of Jean-Pierre Moueix endures through his sons, Jean-François and Jean, alongside Olivier Berrouet, who has succeeded his father at Petrus. Together, they honor and maintain the esteemed Petrus style.
Petrus reigns over an 11.5-hectare vineyard, perched on a 40-meter-high hillock, where unique clay soils—blue on the surface and red in the subsoil—nurture the vines. This exceptional terroir provides an excellent water supply, acting like a sponge to support the 100% Merlot grape varieties.
The wines undergo aging for 18 to 20 months in 100% new French oak barrels, resulting in a product with truly unique olfactory and gustatory characteristics. Velvety, deep, and racy, Petrus captivates with its distinctive truffle essence, leaving an unforgettable impression on all fortunate enough to experience it.
