On this tasting we will compare side by side 6 red wines, 3 from Burgundy and 3 from Oregon in 3 different levels of quality: village, 1er cru and grand cru.

We have selected wines from the same producer, appellation and vintages in both regions to reduce the level of variables, and make the tasting enjoyable for both advanced and beginner wine enthusiasts.

The tasting will include a light snack (bread and charcuterie)

The wines will be presented by John Chan

About the producers:

Domaine Tortochot dates back to 1865, and farms 12 hectares of vineyards from 3 appellations in the Cote de Nuits.

The wines are textbook Burgundian Pinot Noir and currently have the support of Sylvain Pataille as a consultant winemaker, but Chantal Tortochot is still running the domaine left by her father in 1997.

Rose & Arrow Estate was founded in 2012 by film producer Mark Tarlov in a partnership with Pedro Parra and Luis Michel Liger Belair. The Estate located in Oregon farms only 2 hectares and the wines are made according to different soil types isolated by the terroir specialist Pedro Parra, and support of Louis Michel Liger Belair in the cellar as a consultant winemaker.
